This year the East Bay Vintners Alliance celebrates its 10th year, and recently we hosted a reception for members of local government and community organizations, media, and others to celebrate with us.
“Ten years ago we united in a goal: to bring great wines to the heart of this urban landscape that we call home,” says Steve Shaffer, EBVA president and winemaker at Urban Legend Cellars in Oakland. “We appreciate the community support we’ve received in that time from local wine lovers seeking out our great wines and supporting us as local artisans. Over the next 10 years and beyond we look forward to forging more and deeper relationships within our communities. As more residents and visitors discover the pleasure of wine tasting with local winemakers across the East Bay, in places as diverse as a carriage house to an aircraft hangar, they’ll come to know that you don’t have to go to ‘wine country’ to enjoy and taste everything from Mead to sparkling wine right here in an unpretentious, urban setting.”
